About Sassie Lassies

Welcome to Sassie Lassies Dance Fitness! My sessions are designed to keep you fit, strong, flexible and healthy both physically and emotionally - you're guaranteed to leave the session with a smile on your face and a song in your head! Just join in and enjoy the music, moves and endorphins.

A Bit About Me

Not a gym bunny? Hate push-ups? That's why I love dance-based fitness - stick on some great tunes and the rest is easy! 

 

I rediscovered dance fitness just after finding out I was going through early menopause at age 38. After attending a few Strictly-based Fitsteps classes, I was hooked and went on to do my instructor training in 2017.

Since then, I've become licensed to teach other brands such as Zumba and Clubbercise as well as becoming a qualified yoga teacher. 

For me, regular dance fitness classes have always been a brilliant way to build confidence & resilience and to work off stresses and frustration. 

I'm passionate about the importance of exercise, particularly for mental and emotional well-being, and am living proof that dancing is a great medicine!

Set to dance anthems from 80s & 90’s classics to the latest hits, Clubbercise classes are in a darkened room with disco lights and optional glow sticks. The routines combine dance, toning and combat moves with options to suit all fitness levels.

 

An amazing mood-booster, this class has helped people across the UK get back into exercise after lockdown and is proven to help with anxiety, depression and mood disorder caused by menopause.  

All the benefits of a night at the dancing without the queue for a taxi or a hangover!

What is Beatz?

Beatz is a fun, upbeat dance fitness class designed to make you feel good. Expect a soundtrack of disco, club tunes, Latin party, boy band, rock, Queen, Abba and more! Designed to lift your mood with a great, dance-based cardio workout and some resistance work to strengthen & tone.

With a variety of dance genres, this is a fun, high-energy workout that keeps you excited to exercise and coming back for more.  Suitable for all levels of fitness - no dance experience needed!

What is Sassie in the Park?

This is an ad hoc pop-up class in Springburn Park - keep an eye on the website bookings page and Facebook for the next dates.

This class is the perfect mood-booster. If you're feeling in need of motivation or your mojo needs a bit of a polish, this is the class for you. 

A combo of all the different Sassie Lassies brands on offer, this class has loads of your favourite tunes, easy-to-follow moves and plenty chance to sweat it out!

𝗣𝗪𝗥 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘇 is the no-nonsense wee sister of Beatz, designed to give you a total body workout set to pumping tunes! This 30-minute HIIT/Functional Fitness workout is broken down into 3 sections:

𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗡 – HIIT Section

𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗧 – Functional Fitness/Bodyweight Section

𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗧 – Core Workout (on floor with a mat)

What is HIIT? HIIT stands for high intensity interval training which means we do short periods of intense exercise alternated with recovery periods. For example, we perform the same move for 50 seconds then have a 10 second recovery before moving onto the next move.

Why is dance fitness good for me?

Do I need dance experience?

No need for any dance experience! Our focus is on the enjoyment of moving to music - all moves are welcome! The routines in each class are suitable for everyone with different levels of intensity so you can work at the pace that suits you on the day.
